Anne began her love for sculpting/teaching One-of-A-Kind dolls as a young teacher-advisor on a Navajo Indian reservation in 1959 where she taught little children how to make soft-sculpted bunnies. Then she incorporated drawing/sculpting of characters as part of teaching high school English students. In 1986 she began sculpting a series of Historical American Indians (winning Bronze for White Eagle at the Santa Fe Doll/Art Show). At that time she started her small company, Old World Santas sculpting 20 one-of-a-kind Santas yearly as well as teaching sculpting throughout the country (or wherever her grandchildren were). She has taught more than 500 students, including blind, physically and mentally challenged students, boys and girls at Boys Town and seniors at Senior retirement homes. Anne has appeared in more than 100 shows and has been featured in books, newspapers, and magazines, but, is primarily pleased that three large Santas appear in a Childrens’ Hospital In the Philippines.
